It all depends upon what style of music you like...I prefer more punk/rock type music, so I would steer you toward Panic! At the Disco or the new My Chemical Romance. The new Killers is also quite good.

If you go to mtv.com or rollingstone.com they will show lists of the most played/requested/and sold, so that might help you find some newer, popular music.
