Since I asked a similar question to the ladies a few days ago, I'll now turn towards my fellown men.
How would you feel if a doctor told you they needed to operate your "pride and joy". Thus insuring no more joy for life. If it were to happen to me I'm sure I would no longer feel like the same man. I have a friend who actually threatened to kill his doctor if he damaged his prostate (he had bowell cancer and the doctors told him there was a chance it got damaged.) So how would you feel if something happened to your manhood.

Just to specify I didn't say you needed to stop the doctor from acting. I wanted to know how you would feel if it would happen to you.

some of the posted responses make a humorous or disbelieving stand. this question is as truthful as the day is long.
i'm 59 years old and living with the inablity to have sex (alone or partnered) due to nerve damage in my penis caused by high blood pressure and diabetes. thee isn't a drug, pump, injection, etc. that i haven't tried, with NO success. the blood flows into the penis during arousal but doesn't stay there; it immediately flows back out.
this is a tough fact of life to live with. my sex life is over and there's nothing i can do to correct it.
what do i do to cope with the problem? i still provide my wife with pleasure (use your imagination). it gives me great satisfaction to know that her needs are being met. why should both of us suffer because one of us can't perform?
my libido is still as strong as ever. that's the most difficult aspect of this affliction. i have been given an option to start taking drugs that will lessen my sex drive, thus providing a little relief from my continued urges. i can't convince myself that taking this path is the best answer. consequently, i'm living a life of perpetual frustration. it's a very stressful position to be in. in fact, i've begun seeing a psychiatrist to help me cope with this problem.
i'm not looking for pity from anyone. i just want you and other readers to accept the fact that this handicap does exist and it's not a joking matter.

At that point is is not manhood it is more like stupidity! If you have cancer and want to live then you need to make whatever sacrifice necessary to accomplish that task. I would say "SEX" would not be at the top of the list for intelligent folks!

In that case, I would grateful every day I woke up, knowing I was still alive and not dead from cancer. Sex is important in life, but not essential. I'd chose performance problems over death any day.

between sex and life, I would choose life. Life is wonderful while sex is only a part of life, but not life itself!

1st ) Accept what happened

You have a friend who says he threatened his doctor, and you believe this?
Do you often discuss your friend's erections with him.
