Simply put Christians are the worst of the lot. You do know that more people have been killed in the name of Christianity than any other religion on the face of this planet. So what is a little "bad behavior", all they have to do is say "Forgive me Lord" without truly having going and making it right with the person they wronged and they are "Forgiven" or so their religion teaches. They are so full of contradictions in their religion. They remove books from their "Bible" that contradict other books, but claim that even though Men wrote the texts they were "Divine Inspired". So then why remove books from their Bible if they were "Divine Inspired"? Maybe because the whole book is nothing more than a bunch of short stories written by men to control the masses. Organized religion is nothing more than that plain and simple. Because back in the day when this was dreamed up, they didn't have enough men to truly control the masses and so this was concocted in order to keep people pacified against stupid leaders and other people. The same is true today.

Jesus didn't take too kindly to hypocrites or to the self-righteous. He called them "Whited sepulchres" pristine on the outside & rotting inside. There will always be rotten apples, don't use them to judge the rest of the bunch. A real Christian doesn't pretend to be nice. They are genuinely loving & kind. The golden rule involves loving others as yourself, treating them as you would like to be treated. Very few of us actually live up to that. I certainly wouldn't claim to myself. At least not consistently. I'm not perfect!
Jesus wanted us to turn the other cheek, this is hard to do as well! He gave us something to live up to but most of us fall short.
Personally I think fanatics & Bible-thumpers are missing the point. Jesus was pretty down to earth. He associated with the so-called dregs of society (tax collectors & prostitutes who were loathed by everyone). He didn't judge people. "Judge not lest ye be judged." Again, it can be hard to live by when you see people behaving in a way that you believe is wrong, but it really isn't our place to judge.
Backstabbing and gossip unfortunately seem to be common these days. People can be shallow, mean-spirited & self-serving. A lot of it may be insecurity (speak ill of others & deflect attention from yourself).
Just realize that they aren't true Christians, they are going against everything Christ stood for...I don't see the point in people marching off to church & then hurting people outside of church. Seems a bit silly. Even if they appear to be perfect little Christians to the outside world, they can't fool God, or their own consciences...

Aren't you kind of contradicting yourself? If they were actually Christians, would they do that? Some people I've encountered go to church for the "upstanding citizen" image. Others go & actually follow the precepts that Christ laid forth. Often times, they lash out most at those character faults they find within themselves. Take that Fred Phelps guy in Kansas (Cult leader that pickets the soliers' funerals). It wouldn't suprise me a bit to find that he's dealing with some sort of holosexual urges himself.

Somehow, I can't agree with you at all. I'm not Christian but what you're griping about could be said about people in general. You can't single out one group.
Going to church does not make a person more honest, truthful, trustworthy, or anything else, more than a non-church goer. That would go for any church, not just Christian.
A person who is truthful and honest is that way because it's in his heart to be honest. If he would like to steal, cheat, and kill but is afraid of being sent to hell, he is not an honest person.

Hypocrisy is the name of the game where 'people' who call themselves 'Christians' practice everything EXCEPT the true principles of Christianity, which are the teachings of CHRIST, and include HONESTY, KINDNESS, CHARITY, FORGIVENESS, and GOOD WORKS.
If these people are backstabbing, playing politics, judging people, gossiping, and purposely creating bad dealings with their neighbours, they are NOT true Christians and should not pretend to be so righteous.

Christians' goal is to be more and more Christ-like. There are many churches that preach to itching ears Find a good teacher/preacher and you will find christians who are striving to be like Christ.
Look inside of your self and live as much as possible in the spirit, and what people say and do will become less important to you.

They are hypocrites.
The thing is, if they TRULY believed in God, then they would know that their behavior is leading them on the road to Hell.
Since they continue to behave the way they do, the likeliest conclusion is they do NOT truly believe.
All the more reason to act so self-righteous, they are just overcompensating for their lack of faith.
But they'll find out God can't be fooled so easily.

Churches do this because it is all about money. The bottom line is all in dollars and sense. Their marketing is the bellowing tone of a pastor with a southern accent, warning of the moral traps of this world today; their demographic are the followers, weaklings, and sub-educated; their product is 'how to get into heaven and escape an eternity of fire and brimstone'; their testimonials are usually from hard workers who would have achieved success anyway through sheer determination; and their payment requirement for services rendered is a weekly tithe of 10% of your earnings, in additions to collections they subtly require you to give, lest you receive the sly cutting of the eyes from the person next to you on the pew...in other words, they are just like employees at a law firm.

It's not any of that at all, they try,but have no clue as to how the christ suggested they live their lives. the sermon on the mount was where we are told just what a christain is. No one I know including myself can be arrested with evidence of being a christain. Wait for the great revival to come and pray that you will be so instructed.
