Hairdresser/stylist with my curly mop I need all the help I can get.

Hummm good point. To me, the two are completely different. A barber is more concerned about the cut, where a hairdresser is more concerned about the style, in my opinion. I prefer saying "hair stylist".

hairdresser. She's been doing my hair for just about forever and knows how I like it and does an excellent job. Plus there's a family connection thing...

i go to a beauty shop, i would never let a barber touch my hair. of course if you want a mullet, a flat top, or the bull dyke cut (don't get all pissy, y'all know what i'm talking about!) go right ahead. but remenber its $10 for a reason! lololol

my little cousin came to visit he wanted to go to hair salon to get a hair cut. I told him boys go to barbershops and girls to salons. my mom used to take me to a hair salon and it was OK but i found it to be more comfortable in a barbershop. barbershops understand a guys head better than a salon does (no offense hairdressers) but then again i usually get a fade. most hair salons do not do fades they just cut hair.also believe it or not the gossip is juicier in a barbershop. (men tend to gossip more than women) and as a gay guy I like to be around guys and you will find most of them at a barbershop. but if you are insecure and a little shy around alot of guys maybe you should go to a salon. go wherever you feel more comfortable. but try both spots first before you decide.

I have so little hair I either go to a barber or whack it off myself (hair, that is).

I cut my own hair, but if I had a guy hairdresser that was gay I would go to him. :)
