My sister highly recommends anything you can get by The Feeling.

I'd also recommend "Geraldine" by the Happies, "We Were Alone" by The Child Who Was a Keyhole, "The Boy With the Arab Strap" and "My Wandering Days Are Over" as well as pretty much anything else by Belle and Sebastian. If you don't mind kind of annoying, nasally voices, I'd also recommend "July, July!" and "Song for Myla Goldberg" by the Decemberists, "Holland, 1945" and "In the Aeroplane Over the Sea" by Neutral Milk Hotel, "Section 12 (Hold Me Now)" by the Polyphonic Spree and anything that catches your fancy by the Flaming Lips.

Some other random recommendations of mine include "Girls, Girls, Girls" and "Glass of Champagne" by Sailor, "Armageddon" by Data, "Queen of the Surface Streets" by DeVotchKa, "Coin Operated Boy" by the Dresden Dolls, "Boys Don't Cry" by the Cure, "My Lost Soprano" by the Modern Skirts, "Circling Around the Sun" by the Orange Peels and anything you can find by Daryl Scairiot.

I'd also suggest -- but I do this all the time -- going to your favorite band's websites and seeing who they like or who influenced them.
