i'm installing a remote car starter in my car and i would like to know if i need to disconnect the battey when i'm striping the wires because after that i would have to search for which wire is which at the ignition harness thank you

It is a safer to disconnect the battery for safety reasons, but there are times you need it connected to find power wires. I would just be careful working with live wires, don't let them touch any grounds.

A bit of tape on each wire will get it back home.
Yes, by all means disconnect the battery.
Or bring along some hot dogs and rolls to have roast in the fire.

If you can help it always disconnect the battery whan working in a vehicle there are too many things that are flamable if you start making sparks.
