in a dead end relationship right now...everytime i try and break it off he is always saying he will change and he does for 2 days but then goes back to doing the exact thing he said he would change. i feel like i am just going around in circles.

fear of change... some people are afraid of the unknown and are more comfortable with the familiar, no matter how bad it is.

The same reason they stay in a dead end job. They are afraid to make a change and to get out of their comfort zone.

Boy can I answer this one....
Finances!
I am currently finally becomming free of the monitary leech I picked up 7 years ago.
She can finally afford to survive on her own.
I would have dropped her long ago but I worried for her horses. (I love animals)
Finally I have the cash from restricting her spending.
Wooo HOOOO It's a Beautiful morning!
7 years of depression and hell are ending and the horses won't starve.

They are afraid of being alone. They think that a bad relationship is better than no relationship at all.
They are not willing to let go because they don't want their partner to leave them behind and start another relationship.

Don't wanna be alone, been in the relationship so long they wouln't know what to do if it finished, they love each other but just aren't "in love" with each other. there are so many things only the people in the dead end relationship can know.

They stay in dead-end relationships because they are scared to death to start a new life. It's very sad!

It is easier to stay than go. Love IS staying when there is no other reason. When they are old, this dead end time will be just anther time. LOVE is staying

Maybe because they don't feel there is anything better out there for them or they are scared to be alone.
