Is there another funcion for Ribosome's other than protein synthesis?

As part of an assignment we have been asked to find at least two functions for Ribosome's.i can only find one function and that being protein synthesis.
Is there any other functions of Ribosome's apart from protein synthesis?
please help!

I can assure you that ribosomes only function as machinery for protein synthesis. Are you sure the assignment wasn't for something else, for example ribozymes?

I am in my third year of a microbiology degree in which I have done a lot of biochemistry and dealt with ribosomes on several occassions. In that time I have only heard of one function. Of course by perfroming the protein synthesis it might be preventing something else from happening, but thats pure speculation.
