As a current cheer coach, I would suggest that you ask your local cheer coach what her requirements are. Although a backhandspring and back tuck are nice elements to have, not all of the girls on our squad can do these.
If you are small framed, and very athletic (which I would suppose as a dancer), you could probably be a flier. These girls are the ones that are lifted into the air and perform many arabesques, liberties, heal stretches and the like.
If you have to have the tumbling/gymnastics ability, go to your local gym and enroll in a basic gymnastics class. Let them assess your ability to learn these moves and progress from there.
Good Luck!

A back Tuck and backhandspring are not something u can just do when u have been dancing for 15 years thats hard, i have been a cheerleader but i danced for a couple of years, my advise would be to just blow off trying to do back handsprings and back tucks they take a lot of practice, or if u have to just ask a friend or someone that u know how to do that!!! if that doesnt work then ask your self do i have to know how to do these stunts or is it a want!!!!hope that works for..... jumps are hard too u have to be able to multitask while you are being thrown in the air and put you hands up in a formation when you get down, maybe dancing is best for you of take a shot at cheerleading, u might find that you like it!!!Whatever you decide to do have fun im sure youll be great

Hate to mention but when your dad may not help you, I desire that your mother will. I am a core tuition cheerleading teach and cheerleading isn't inexpensive. Of path core schoolers wouldn't have jobs to pay for camp, uniforms, and so on. and even though you might get a role, you wouldn't have time to paintings and move to after tuition practices, conferences, and video games.... and don't forget assignments. You will want any person to support you pay the charges. Is your cheerleading squad conventional or game? A conventional squad is the squad that does the pep rally, cheers at video games from the sidelines, and would possibly do a part time efficiency. A game squad is a squad that travels across the country competing. Most of the game squads are co-ed, tremendously knowledgeable, enormously complicated stunts, killer flips, you get the factor. Its just like the Bring it On Squads. If your tuition has a conventional squad, all you must do is have a few variety of rhythm and get a former cheerleader or one who has already made the squad to instruct you. You might move to a UCA camp. They will instruct you the fundamentals of cheerleading. I feel this would be the exceptional alternative. If your squad is a game squad, your probabilities of creating the squad are very slender until you have got had years of gymnastics. Whatever occurs, I desire you the exceptional of good fortune. Keep making an attempt and paintings difficult. Remember Cheerleading is difficult paintings, if it was once any simpler, it might be known as Football!

Just keep practicing. Dancing and cheerleading are similar in many ways. If you know any cheerleaders ask for their help with the jumps and get into a tumbling class. Never attempt tumbling without a trained spotter. Good Luck!

well it depends on what kinda dance you did. if you did ballet then cheerleading will probably be hard for you, cause in ballet you have really good postier and stuff, and in cheerleading you do more of like a hip hop kinda thing. but if you do ne other kinda dance you should go ahead and do it.
