this is a difficult question to answer,
it is a relative thing as to how should we decide the boarder line between classic and modern

I don't care what the dictionaries say- something classic is something that has a grace, an elegance and a permanent spark of brilliance. That can apply as equally to things regarded by many as disposable objects of contemporary culture as it can to a piece of art hanging on a wall. A person can be 'classic'.

But one man's 'classic' is another's worthless rubbish.
Yesterday's daring, revolutionary piece of work can become today's 'national treasure', which usually means that they are now regarded as safe.

A classic, whatever it is, is as perfect a thing within its genre as it can be. Classic tend to be created by creative individuals, not committees who would water down the idea.

nope! the term is reserved for things 20 years or older. thats why we started calling 70s rock classic rock in the 90s.(its true) this also applies to automobiles.
things that are classic are also supposed to stand the test of time. like, "man that was a classic example of..."

I think a classic is a book that's not just good, but great. And its appeal hasn't diminished over time, and people still want to read it. This also apllies to movies, music, etc.

Classic simply means it's old and still popular, well liked, well read, etc.

classic is like moby dick. it is one of the best and you can never go wrong with that book. it is kinda like saying a great book n american literature. not many books can be considered calssics, but to me, they are usually ones with a major lesson or moral.
