Lately, I have been accused of being a racist person.

I would like for you to take time out to review my Q and A.

Here's my view on racism and stereotypes:

Racism is wrong on both sides.

If you are proud of your heritage, good.

Just don't put others down.

Stereotypes are very untrue.

I certainly hate them.

When I see a person on Yahoo ansers with a Q or an A based on stereotypical views, I contest it.

I am a Black woman, and as you know, there have been a lot of bashing against black women based on stereotypes.

Because I happen not to fit into the stereotypes, I am being accused as a racist person.

I paid my way through school, out of pocket (don't you know how hard that is?)

I work for a living.

I pay my dues to society.

I have never recieved aid from the government

Niether am I fat, loud or have an attitude

Am I wrong for telling the truth? What does that tell you about the accuser?

Do my questions come off as racist?

You should look into going to a Calvin Terrell seminar. At first when he came and talked to us about prejudice and violence, I was think, oh greeeaaat. But it touched home with powerful meanings. And he didn't just attack white people and men only. He broadened it.

No so far but in case you haven't notice, there is much hostility on this board...

We all get attacked at least once.

Quite frankly this is the first post I recall seeing from you but then I again, I don't go around like a troll trying to pick people out.

I guess I would say that if you come on here and think that you are the only one that has ever struggled (going to college, etc) then I would say you get what you get. Many of us have been there and some of us are STILL there.

But, if you just come on here to talk like most of us, then no, I don't see you as a racist.

Not racist. You sound defensive, but we all have the right to defend ourselves. I see nothing wrong in standing up for yourself. I would do the same and I would be very proud of standing up for myself. Much better then to sit in the corner and wine about how the world is so cruel.

I do believe that we all have sterotyping in us, maybe I am wrong.
What do you think when you hear the word magician? Do you think man or woman. I was at a festival and there was a magician coming on soon. I pictured a man in my head and then saw a woman come out. I thought to myself "wow that was sexist and steriotypical. She did a very good job.

I try not to think this way but I do catch myself at times. I think it is good that I can catch myself doing this then to live in denial.

You responded your possess query. There is a colossal double commonplace. If you're a minority you're loose to mention as a rule something you prefer. The left additionally signifies that if you happen to oppose Sotomayor, it is not since you disagree along with her as a pass judgement on.. It is since you're racist! After all, she has this kind of compelling existence tale. Three folks with "compelling existence reviews" that the left vigorously adverse and got down to destroy. Clarence Thomas Alberto Gonzales Emilio Garza Yet, no one ever referred to as them racist for doing so. Turns out, it simplest issues if you're a minority AND trust the Dems.

I dont think you are racist at all. I have been accused of being racist within my own race or an uppity black person because of the same qualities you stated above (Paid my way through college, worked 3 jobs during undergrad and grad school, listen to all kinds of music) I just think its a term that is used ignorantly sometimes although it racism does exist.
