Because belief in anything not seen requires faith, and most people aren't willing to invest the time it takes to look past the obvious five senses and try to figure out if there is more going on than meets the eye.
If you believe in Good and Evil, the question is even simpler. Would an evil being WANT you to believe in Hell, or just to eat, drink, and be merry and/or "profit at your brother's expense" until it is too late? Catering to "Eat drink and be merry" is a profitable venture, so our advertising supported media usually ignores the unobvious and allows darkness to most of work without restraint
But the fact is that even if the media ignores it and most people are blind to it, prophecies that were unknowable in advance which were fulfilled sometimes hundreds of years later and are being fulfilled in our day/time. Plus I do happen to believe in God, the afterlife, etc. because of many many experiences I have had personally that can't be otherwise explained without a "soul".
This leaves only one set of questions, which is "what kind of choices will a person make? (hellish or heavenly), and what about the mistakes in between (that make the position of a Savior or Redeemer or intercessory beings, etc. necessary).
Those questions are out of scope for this particular thread, but look for my answers elsewhere in Yahoo if you are interested as I will be posting here for some time to come.

I sense a lack of inquisition, but rather a sermon evoked from this question (if it is just that). If you want to get a more accurate answer you could at least start by checking your spelling and grammar so that others will take you more serious on this matter.
In any case, there are multitudes of people who believe in hell, as quite a large portion of the world of Christians. However, the opinions as to what Hell actually is differs greatly. So, if you wish to ask a more narrowed question (one that contains an answer of some relevance) than you may receive worthwhile answers rather than others supporting your belief. For if that was not your purpose, than it must have been the short preaching paragraph where your question lies.

Because Satan a master deceiver and his greatest acheivement has been deceiving people into believing he nor Hell is real and sometimes even convincing people that there is no God or Heaven. All you can do is pray for people to see the truth, live by your beliefs and let your leading by the example by walking in the light encourage others to seek true happiness in the Lord; getting on a soap box and preaching at people only turns them away... they need to want to want God's love, not just fear going to Hell.

I believe its because as every day passes our love is growing colder, the Christian doesn't talk about Hell much anymore, Jesus talked about Hell more than any other subject, everybody thinks that Lucifer, yes, he has a name, is just a myth and that only bad people do bad things. To say there is no Hell means that is the easy way out and you don't have to worry about nothing, think again. You are going if you are not covered by the blood of Jesus Christ, then you will believe and it will be too late. Do something about it now.

hmm you explain all this in a manner i have not often heard and i like it much more then the other ways i have heard it descirbed, but i think hell in the way i have heard it described, as an everlasting punishment in the worst possible way, is a place anyone would take heaven over, and i think that there are a large number of people that don't have this concept of god, for me, i think we are god along with everything else, so a hell and heaven just have no place in my mind.

I think that people don't believe in hell because they simply don't want to. If there's a hell (which there is) then that means people have to find a way to not end up there. It's easier for people to think that there's no hell, so you might as well live however you want. If there's not hell...then there's no God (which there is). No one to answer to but yourself.

I don't believe that is correct. What god are you reffering to? Because I believe he has a name. Don't you like to be called by your name? Would you rather someone call you '' person '' ? No. His name is Jehova. His son is Jesus. Anywho, I don't think there is a hell simply for people who didn't love him, he wanted to see who is going to be loyal to him, and those who go on with life in a separate direction. You follow me? Satan has his followers (The people he misleads) and Jehova has his followers. If you do not wish to worship Jehova, than yeah, it's most obvious you are in another religion and you'll most likely stay on earth when Judgement day comes. Just how I view it...

What do you mean no one believes in Hell?! A lot of us do. You have an interesting version of Hell (choosing not to worship God). I suppose that would be part of it, but I think the idea of punishment is important. Cruel & evil people that destroyed others in their lifetime deserve to suffer themselves.

You have to accept Christ to go to heaven. He is asking you a question that you have to make a decision that will affect the rest of your life. He doesn't ask you if you want to go to hell- there is no choice about that if you don't repent and accept Christ.

Because Hell, as you understand it, does not exist. Massive groups of people, all being certain of something which they cannot possibly be certain, is creating a Hell on earth. Open your mind and believe in possibilities, not certainties.
