Yup, Mozilla Firefox is a better option than Internet Explorer, because it's written by MANY people around the world hence it has the most feature compared to Internet Explorer which is written only by the people who work for Microsoft.
In Mozilla firefox, you can get add-on/plug-in/extension which will let you do MORE with the browser (e.g. built in dictionary, built-in e-Bay catalog viewer, etc)
So, go for Firefox.

Most used Internet Explorer. It is bundled with every PC. People use it because they are familiar with it. People are creatures of habit. Is McDonalds #1 because they make the best burgers? No. People go there because they know what they are getting and they get a consistent, yet lousy, experience.
I prefer Mozilla Firefox. Since IE is the most used, 99% of the hackers write malicious stuff for it.

ie7 has bugs i quit using the release candidate 1, but liked beta. mozilla firefox is all that, the only thing wrong is it is slow.the yahoo browser is awesome. its fast, has tabs, pop up blocker, over all, the best. i use them all, but yahoo browser the most

Recommend IE7. It is much improved both from a functional standpoint as well as security. Also, you don't have to mess around with all the extensions that FF uses.
