Easy! 1986, the Aztec stadium, World Cup, Argentina vs England.

Diego Maradona 2 - England 0. English football (the football of an entire nation) was buried with Maradona's historic run through the entire English squad; leaving a trail of dead Englishmen as he sprinted down the pitch, before finally making a widow out of goalkeeper Peter Shilton's wife.

It was and still is, the greatest goal ever scored by the greatest player in the world.

2002 FIFA World Cup qualifier
UEFA European Group 9
Saturday, 01 September 2001
Olimpia Stadium, Munich, Germany

GERMANY 1-5 ENGLAND

this one has to be top of my all-time great matches, ENGLAND were 1-0 down when Carsten Jancker gave GERMANY an early lead but ENGLAND drew level thru Michael Owen soon after. Steven Gerrard gave ENGLAND a 2-1 lead just before half-time, scoring his first international goal.

it was ENGLAND all the way in the second half, when Michael Owen scored two more goal & Emile Heskey round off a remarkable victory for ENGLAND.

ENGLAND qualified as group winners that year leaving GERMANY to square off against UKRAINE in the play-off which they also qualified.

The 1970 World Cup Final between Brazil and Italy. The game had everything, including the greatest goal you will ever - the final goal by Carlos Alberto.
People will try and tell you that Maradona's Argentina beating England in 1986 was better, but they overlook one fact - Maradona cheated. That spoils the game completely. He got what he deserved in 1990 and 1994 when his cheating didn't pay.

Face it, would you rather see Brazilian genius, or Argentinian gamesmanship?

Has to be the CL final in 2005 for me, Liverpool V AC Milan.

3-0 down at half time and come back to win it, I don't think I'll see another match like that for the rest of my life.

Fred Bear - That FA Cup Final you refer to was in 1979

tough question, depends on what criteria you judge the match and who u follow, for drama it's the '98 champions league final or the '05 champions league final, but the match that stick out in my head is the spain yugoslavia match in euro 2000 4-3 and a great standard of football
