The ones that get me are "my dog/cat/kid is siezureing/puking blood & having bloody diarrea - what can I do?" & stuff like that. Best I saw was "my dog got hit by a car & is bleeding from the mouth - can I give it Tylenol to make it feel better?".

People feel more comfortable getting answers/information from "peers" than calling or going to a mental health facility, contacting a law firm and confronting legalese or getting negative responses cold from an agency or other paid employee. That is actually a good thing because amongst the replies are personal experiences with warning of who and what to avoid. Ultimately, the lawyer and mental health expert will have to be consulted but this YA is a clearinghouse that could prove very helpful.
Unless a wisea ss such as myself suspects your question is phony or stupid or input by some goofy 12 year old, then I satirize you and attempt to reduce your self esteem to a decimal point.
Either way, someone gets something out of it.

It is easier to ask a stranger then a friend. Most of us here are going to say we suggest a lawyer or psychologist and add our opinion. Sometimes all it takes for someone to go get help that they need is to have a complete stranger to say so. Empathy from strangers makes us understand we our not the only one with problems. Empathy from friends and familys is nice but I think we believe they don't know what they are talking about.

Think back as a child. If you ever had a problem be it "I'm ugly, nobody likes me, why can't I be popular, I am stupid." When Mom or Dad steps in to tell us no your not stupid etc. We tend to believe that they don't understand us and that they know nothing. Even as adults we revert back to this thinking with family and friends.

My son has a hard time reading and spelling. I see improvement yet he does not. He told me I had to say that because I am his Mom, so therefore he believes that I am lieing to him. At first this hurt my feelings but then I thought back when I was a child. I felt the same way with my Dad.

Basically some believe family and friends will sugar coat and strangers have no reason to lie.

other peoples input is a great way to START research but not nessicaraly to finish it posting a question on Yahoo! Answers is like asking your friends(with as little or much knowledge as they have) for their advice - sometimes many heads are better than one. You should not use every answer as a complete fact though, youshould thorughly research each answer before useing it as a fact. If nothing else you can gain keywords from asking your question to help you further your research on your questioin

People are looking for answers or some sort of cushion ignore the rude remarks that some put on here.
Their are professional people here to even if you do not get what you are looking for at least you have some sort of information someone could have went through it and they could learn from that person.

Some people may have no reference as a starting point for concerns in their lives. This may be it for them. I wonder why people deem it worth their time to answer nonsensically or with such lack of compassion.

I think it's more a case of having someone to TELL rather than actually expecting an answer - least of all on here !!! Then again, CERTAIN people only come on here to advertise their wares, and change their name each weekend....

I think the whole point is for people to get things off their chest....they sit and think about it and rather than let it fester they can get it out in the open..and It's safe because nobody knows them!!! That's how I see it anyway..if it makes any sense!! Plus there are people who just take the piss!!!!

No, but that's why you're asking. Occasionally you can get a reasonable answer here. Such as from me, and now. This is mainly a forum of entertainment for morons, such as myself. But, God it's amusing for those of us who moonlite as intelligent human beings.

It is interesting to get other people's opinions. Sometimes it helps the asker evaluate their situation better.
