I see people misspell this word all the time. It doesn't seem like it should be hard to keep track of how to spell "lose" but many, many people spell it "loose." Do you have any idea why this is such a common error?

Spelling a word wrong is not necessarily a lack of education...sometimes people spell how the talk...and i know for a fact that Americans spell somewhat different to the way we English spell, not all words just some...i think it's better than those really lazy people who cant be bothered to even spell the word out at all, and use letters, and numbers as though they were merely sending a text message on the phone...sounds like you're offering to take classes to teach or something huh.....

Simple misspelling such as this come from our reliance on the old spell-check, which will pick up a completely incorrect spelling, but will miss instances such as this. In regards to typing on line, one is often typing at the same time as they are thinking about what they are trying to say, so spelling often takes a back seat.

according to hazard via fact theist is reported in any different case to atheist. The atheist makes the ei sound like "e" extremely of "a" yet i'm no longer completely valuable that that's the reason. possibly that's actual, as creatrix shows, that atheists are for some reason greater effective spellers. If it have been it could extremely bring about atheist being spelt incorrectly greater in lots of cases as atheists use the word theist maximum in lots of cases jointly as all people makes use of the word atheist.

It is easy to blame the education system and I do, but another thought came to mind.

Nowadays dyslexia is more recognised and people with dyslexia are, as a result, more literate than they have ever been before.

Dyslexics rely heavily on spellcheckers and as we all know spellcheckers will happily tell you that all the words are correct when you write a typo that is also a word - my most common effort is "fro" instead of "for".

Could this be the answer?

I know, it's annoying. I reckon people don't really care that they spell wrong. Plus, lack of education.
