They were very high when they wrote that. I wouldn't expect to find meaning in it. At least not without getting high first.

John Lennon was experimenting, at the time, with what he called a Dali-esque form of writing, 'painting' an absurd picture with words the same way that Salvatore Dali was painting on canvas. The words were just there to invoke images in your mind. I am the Eggman...they are the eggmen...I am the walrus! Somewhat drug induced, as others state, but just words to illicet feelings...
