I've read that life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away. Corny, but true. How you measure your life determines whether it's pointless or not. Every day is filled with surprises, someone could walk into your life this next second and turn it upside down and leave you smiling for ever, some great experience or achievement that leaves you feeling good about yourself, some near death experience that makes you glad to be alive to talk about it... And you touch the lives of other people in ways that you don't even know, your life is short but your legacy may be very very long, think of the man who invented the safety pin, he took the 'point' out of everyday life, didn't he? But his was not a pointless life.

You know that is the central them to the book in the Bible, Ecclesiatstes. You may find comfort in reading that book in the Bible because King Solomon felt the same way. So yes you can look at life at being pointless and you can just sit around and take up space or you can view it as an opportunity to accomplish things and make a difference. Might as well enjoy it since we all only have a short time to be here!

You could view it that way, or you can say to yourself, I have a limited amount of time to live so make the most of it. Fill your life with meaningful things. Check out existentialism on the web because it deals with your question. Bottom line, you have the choice to believe that life is pointless or that it is very meaningful.

All our lives are BY CHANCE circumstance (your mum happening to meet your dad etc.,) I have thought about what you are asking over and over. So an-way we are here, it is like an amazing game of roulette - and we got a life on earth. Make the most of it, learn, travel, love and be loved, write your feelings down, paint pictures, try to do everything you want to do. I am often (when I dwell on it) a little frightened of the thought of not being here. But there is no escape. Live Now !!!

Every thing in nature has specific span of life and specific purpose for it. We have to do some thing during the life, so that the next generation will start from there. Life is an unending journey. Have you not heard that 'Men" are mortal but "man: is immortal. That is the point in life.

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.

You were born from nothing and will return to nothing. What you do with the inbetween is up to you.

Live your life to the fullest. Get something out of it to make a difference.
