I had a medical abortion performed on Oct. 12 (nearly 10 days ago).

Is it okay that I am still Bleeding? Its not as heavy at times as it aws the first 3 days but I still have clots/or tissue that pass out esp. when I am urinating.

Last night, somehow, my bf and I had sex. At first he put it in without a condom and then I made him put one on. What is the likely hood that I will get an infection or something else happen? The day I took the medical pills I placed an ortho evra patch on and replaced it on saturday.

This was my first time get. preg. and an abortion. I go for my 2 week checkup on this thur. Oct. 26.

Please just give me some help and no bashing.

Thanks!

Its okay!!! The bleeding is completely normal. It should stop in a few weeks. It may not be a good idea to have sex again until it does though. It can cause an infection because your body is trying to cleanse itself. If you are really worried about the bleeding I would call the clinic you had the abortion at, or contact your regular doctor. My friend had one done about 2 yrs ago now and she bleed for up to 3 months afterwards. Don't worry everything your body is going through is normal.

No, you will not get an infection, you'll be ok. There is the possability that you can bleed for two to three weeks after an abortion. You'll be alright. Thank you for being an honest person on here. You are a very brave girl!! Remember to always use condoms.. Don't trust birth control pills or patches. Use condoms.

When you have an abortion you should wait to stop bleeding just like you do when you give birth, you can get an infection. Also why is he trying to have sex so soon and without a condom. I guess you all did not learn your lesson the first time. Just get pregnant again and have another abortion. Better yet, don't get on the pill or use condoms at all. Just use abortions for birth control.
Sorry for the bashing =)

Depending on how far along you were its probably normal.

Your child had a placenta that fed it and provided everything it needed, the placenta is actually quite a large bloodly piece of material. It can take a long time for that, and the uterine lining that your child was attached to for protection and safe growth, to be completely flushed from your body. If all you did was a chemcial abortion (via pills) those things were just released from the uterus bit by bloody bit, and it takes your baby and all those things quite a while to be passed and thrown out. The farther along you are they tend to do a D&C. Where they will scrape out the inside of the uterus to make sure everything is out. you will probably require one, to make sure you are completely rid of your child and all its vital parts and uterine pieces.

You can call the doctor who gave you the pills and double check that everything is going according to plan. They have a number that you can call at all times for just such questions, theyre required to answer it or call you back any time of day or night.

go to the doctor or clinic, they are professionals and can check your wounds etc.

if you plan to have more unprotected sex you should try get on the pill or get the injection or IUD or something. Its not worth it to go through this again
