I'm totally depressed. I'm 25 and I still live with them, in Poland, it's normal. But my parrents all the time make me stressed and unhappy. They have been quareling and fighting since I was a little child. I just can't stop them. They just ignore me and torment me with their moods. I feel like they were taking away all my energy, all joy and happiness. My house, my room is not even a safe place, a plece where you would like to return... I feel more comfortable in a hotel room, among total strangers. I'm not sure if I can live with my parents any longer. I'm just tired and don't know what to do... Do you know any supports groups for people like me?

I know EXACTLY how you feel. I went threw the same thing growing up in my parents house. They would fight like cats and dogs with no end in sight. I think they stuck it out for the children so not to put us threw a divorce, but sometimes I think that it may have been better. Anyhow, what I did was removed myself from the situation and got out of there right after high school. I went to a community college and focused on improving myself. Since then I have started my own business and live where I have always wanted to live (Newport beach California!). So my point is, don't let your current situation dictate who you are or how you should feel. If this is an unhealthy environment, get out and do something that will help you progress. Move to a healthier environment that will help you grow instead of having to deal with these issues later on in life ;)

Sorry to hear about your situation.I had an awful childhood with my family who didn't care about me, but I moved away years ago. There should be a lot of support groups - if you look under Yahoo Groups and type in "difficult/toxic parents" or "childhood" you should find a list of groups will come up under those sorts of topics. I hope you get support somewhere. Ultimately I think for your emotional and physcial health you need to move out. Have you got friends you could lodge with, or could you rent a room in a shared house? Good luck, I know it's not easy. x
