To mat67's comment. Leaving the EU does not mean ceasing all trading within europe. We need trade but what we dont need is being told what laws to have by a government that no one has the power to remove. Does it remind you of that bunch of guys 60 years back led by a painter from austria who decided to start killing everyone.

The Continental peoples are Europeans, the Brits are not,. That 22 miles wide English Channel, is not the only thing that separates us, we do not think of them in the same way that we think about each other. It is "them"and "us". With the continentals it is just "us", they speak of each other as one. When my sister and her then boy-friend(now husband) left university, he got a job with a Dutch company, and they moved to Holland. Twenty -five years later they are still there, they tried to live here again for almost a year, but returned to Holland. They are Europeans, they found the English way of life and our attitudes to the E.C.C. impossible to live with. It is this difference which creates a barrier even more so than financial attitudes. General De Gaulle understood this and for that reason he kept us out of the E.U. It was only after his death that talks to admit us began, Now I really do think it is too late to get out, it would take many years to sort out the finances etc. before they could even start with -drawal. Then we would have to go crawling to our Commonwealth partners to see if they would have us back in their club.It is all so very complicated and involved.I am very much afraid that we are in to deep to get out.

If you ask who will vote to leave the EU, you'll get answers from those who are ready to do so.
Does that tell you anything that you didn't already know?
I'm an European, and my English friends are all pro-EU, i.e. I have intelligent friends. Some *relatives* of theirs are against, usually for the petty motivations you're reading here. You know how boring relatives are, sometimes.

The only people who will vote for us to leave the EU are.
1) Sun readers and readers of other mindless tabloid crap.
2) People who make knee jerk decisions because they dont have the intelligence to work out the issues for themselves.
3) People who dont understand the issues in the first place.

Definitely me!
What has Europe ever done for us? We give by far the most money to the E.U. per year.
We still have our Commonwealth where we can purchase a lot of our luxary items at a fraction of what we pay at the moment from our "European Cousins". And let's not even mention the European Court Of Human Rights. Get rid NOW!

yes its affecting us in a big way more than many know,we are not a democracy and we will have no choice in this issue just like identity cards that was a vote 7/7 comes along an there gonna do them if the population wants them or not theres a big picture here and we are losing are rights and freedom, dont think this is for the good of the people because its not if we all stand up for our rights we might have a chance to stop this new world order.wake up people.

Ditto to Mikey....
but I saw some figures the other day for every £50 we put in per head we get £500 back. Europe is a good idea in a world of super powers it gives the UK some weight.
Especially when it finally goes all wrong in the UK cause we all owe so much money to the banks 1 per cent interest rate and we are all screwed anyway then we will be pleased to be in europe!

Not me, you small minded Englanders, all wrapped upin yourselves, hugging around the shared brain cell for warmth.
You can't speak other than English, except in Esses, where that is still a problem, non, nein, niet, so you opt out, twirps, ya, da.
Ni hao ma, Englander.
