Varies per each airline and the class you are flying.
Check with the airlines website and if it isn´t clearly stated there call the airline.
Normally hand luggage (where permitted) is restricted by both weight and volume.
Be sure to check the permitted contents list for each sector of your flightplan. This can vary according to different countries. eg: USA no sharp objects (nailfile) New Zealand no organic matter (apple)

The maximum size carry-on bag for most airlines is 45 linear inches (the total of the height, width, and depth of the bag).

It depends on the airline and the county you are flying to. For example, UK flights presently are restricted to a length of 56 cm, width of 36 cm and depth of 23 cm including wheels, handles, side pockets etc. Your best bet is to check with your airine. Have a nice holiday!! :-)

The airlines say 21 inches, but it seems to be whatever you can get through security. Keep in mind that if it doesn't fit in the overhead bin or under the seat they will take it away from you and check it whether you want them to or not.

It depends on the airline, some airplanes are bigger than others.
go to the website of the company you are flying with and find out.
the bigger the plane usually the bigger the baggage,
be careful with small discount carriers, sometimes their limits are so small it is only a purse or something like that, better to know before you go!
