They'd probably get a 3 bedroom council house and lots of free money off 'the house of plenty' alas the welfare state, if only they could prove their dress code was for religious reasons.

Good point but I do not think on religious grounds, you could make a point that it is freedom of choice.
I know that hoodies are banned from covering up in shopping malls and other establishments and motorcyclist have to remove head wear my point is how do they get on with entering banks etc without lowering their veils.
I see your point entirely and it is a tough one seems it is alright in certain areas and not in others.
Debatable?. But the government has to be seen to be doing even if it annoys all other quarters, mind you as it has been said when in Rome do what the Romans do abide by their laws.
Just the same here and a happy medium is yet to be found.

I don't think that kids can get away with wearing hoodies because people might start to ask their parents about the religous idea. I don't think that it would work and anyways who would want a hoodie on their head all day.

angel angel angel......nobody objects to the wearing of hoodies ...its that in some areas of the UK they are associated with the gang culture...would you like to be working late in a shop in the inner city when a gang of teenagers come rampaging in your store all wearing hoodies...without hoodies would be bad enough..but if any thing happens you could give no description or get any images from CCTV ..that is why people (not only teenagers but every one ) are asked to take off there hoodies or crash helmets when entering shops

I doubt it....and what about the guys who go into a bank wearing a stocking over their head? They'd be pinned to the floor before they could explain it was a religious thing

Mm. I suppose you have to educate yourself on how many hajaab-wearing british women have been arrested for a violent crime compared to how many hoodie-wearing british youths have been nicked for the same.
Just in case you can't be a**ed to Google, I did and I couldn't find one muslim woman that'd knifed anyone or kicked someone in the head. The numbers of 'yoofs' arrested for the same was less than edifying...
Just saying.
