it's an etower 466/256 ram, 40G HDD. It used to have 2 smaller ones with 98

add it, right click on my computer, then Manage, goto Disk Management from there, right click the new added HDD, and format it, enjoy

a second hard drive, is just another peice of hard ware in the computer. It is the soft ware, that controls the computers functions. The soft ware drivers, and info that introduces the new hard ware to the computer, have to be compatable with 2000
You might want to contact Micro soft, and order the proper soft ware to solve your problem. If the guy on the other end of the phone has a moment, tell him or her the problems that you are having, that will help out in what they deceide to send you.

I don't know - have you checked all the cables and power leads? If so, then boot up your pc, right click on my computer and then device manager. Scan for hardware changes. If it shows up with an X, then it doesn't recognaise it, so therefore, you need a driver.

You may need to update your BIOS to accept the new hdd... good luck :-)
