I pay $400.00 a month in child support. It is due on the 1st of the month. I have never been late in a payment, and i have never been short in a payment. I get a receipt each month, keeping track of when i pay. However, at the bottom of the receipt, it has an area called Total Amount Unpaid. At first, it started as 0. But each month, it has gone up a few houndred dollars. Why foed it say i OWE money and why is it going up? I always pay the full amount, and i have never been lae in a payment.

My husband had to go in with all documents from his payments to lst spouse. If you've never missed a payment, they will adjust.

Either some clerk entered "600" for your obligation instead of "400", or there is a major problem.

Verify that their system does have the right amount, and if it does, they have a MAJOR system glitch.

Your only protection if they have a glitch is to not only keep all your records, but make a second set, to be stored elsewhere in case your house burns down and you lose the first set.

Get in touch with them and ask them. Find out what's going on. If they run you around or get snotty, hang up and call your lawyer. And keep those receipts.

That would be because the amounts are not being entered at the enforcement office correctly or at all.
