As one poster said, it is all relative. I used to live in Juneau and still go back to visit family.

I remember fishing out on the ocean in a boat one day, and we came in because it was too hot. It was about 80 degrees and sunny (and I was so hot, I was dipping my rubber boots in the 35 degree water to keep cool). At the time, I was living in southcentral Wisconsin where 100 degrees wasn't unusual.

80 degrees in SE Alaska is a scorcher. Mid 60's is the norm during the summer, low 70's isn't unusual. There is lots of rain in SE Alaska.

Mainland Alaska has much different weather patterns. In Fairbanks, from what I hear from family, -75F is not unusual in winter whereas -75F is very unusual in Juneau.

If you are from Arizona, you'll probably find it on the cool side.

It is all relative. In the summer when the temperatures reach near 80 degrees it is definitely hot. On more than one occasion I wished I had air conditioning. I have actually suffered signs of heat exhaustion before while doing strenuous work during those hot summer days. If you are from an area that the temps reach into the 90's or 100's you will find it cool here. Some days you see tourist wearing winter cloths while the locals are wearing shorts and tank tops.

I lived there for over a year. One day got to 68 degrees. However, I lived on an island that is in the southeastern part. I have heard that Fairbanks has hot days on occassion, though. Even though it was never hot where I was I loved the midnight sun.
