I used to be such a collector....if I liked something...I'd really get into collecting it. At one time I had literally thousands of VHS tapes & DVD's, thousands upon thousands of comic books and thousands of regular books. When it came time to move house to somewhere over 6000 miles away...I found out just how much my collection of stuff would cost to have moved. ACK!!! So I got rid of almost all of the movies, at least 3/4 of my comic book collection and half of my books. It was sad to do it...but ya know what? It's just "stuff" and I realized I didn't need it in my life to be happy.

can't seem to throw away the bread tags that build up in the bread bin. When I open a new loaf of bread I throw the tag in the bread box. I am sure I must have years worth in there.
Although my wife would empty it from time to time. But she accepts my peculiarities.

Candles and candle holders.
I made the mistake of telling my children that I wanted a few scented candles for Christmas about 2 years ago. Now they buy every candle they see at stores and garage sales they get them from their friends..... What's more, they told everyone in our family that candles are my favorite things, so I get them from EVERYONE else I know too. Oy.
I have so many of them, I have to stash them in boxes!
