They showed the world that no power on earth can ( however strong they may be ) force it's will on a nation / people ( however small / weak they may be ) , if the targetted nation do not want to be pushed around.
In Iraq , they are going to underline that fact again.
We had a lot of hollywood movies based on Nam. ( americans look good only in movies ). where they were winning small 'moral battles ' in Nam.
you can expect movies based on Iraq soon .
Because that is how americans take care of their frustration.

The USA did not accomplish nothing in Vietnam and will not accomplish nothing in Iraq. All the U.S. military men killed in Vietnam, did not stop Bush from sending our young military soldiers to Iraq, when he could have had the UN inspectors go first. If you think our forgotten soldiers are remembered, only their families do that. In other words when a war is going to happen all avenues should be used to avoid a war. Bush did not do that!

In Vietnam we accomplished getting a lot of people killed over the threat of a communist takeover of South Vietnam, which the government allowed anyway!

In Iraq you have the same accomplishment, a lot of deaths. only it is over oil! Bush has lost! He just doesn't know it yet!

In Vietnam we never finished that war and just pulled out so we accomplished nothing. If we pull out of Iraq we will accomplish the same, but if we stay and get there government working we could have a nation in the middleast on our side.

It was the bleeding heart Communist sympathizers in the U.S who were responsible for what happened in Vietnam . If these bleeding hearts would have shut-up and let the military do its job . The world would be a better place now . In Iraq we have freed the people from a life of oppression by a ruthless dictator who is responsible for the deaths of possibly millions of his own people . Should NATO just have sat back and watched him kill any body that was not a " YES" man for him !!

Vietnam has now embraced capitalism. So Iraq will eventually get out of the 12th centruy and join the 21st. It may take 20 or 30 years, but it will happen.

We backed out of Vietnam because of the fears of the liberals that we would be nuked by China... That's why the absurd bombing restrinction in Hanoi, don't make waves in China...

Afganistan was a good move, got the REAL bad guys, Iraq was stupid, but it sorta worked in Bosnia.... Genocide is a great motivator for making war on tyrants.
