Once upon a time... Nobody couldn't answer to the question about Fotomoto's creation because it was so spontaneously and we didn't fix that moment. Maybe it was in 1999. Fotomoto was an instrumental project from the beginning and consist of two men: Sergey and Anton. About one year the group existed as bedroom project, being engaged in the composition and record of music in extra low-budget domestic studio. The band has had three ancient synths, old Alesis drum-machine and a guitar made in the former USSR. Also not state of art PC.
When, during rehearsals the certain amount of musical ideas has collected, Olya Volodina has joined a group, introducing some female vocal and lyrics in French.
The genre and stylistics of group in many respects was defined by musical preferences of group members covering rather wide spectrum of music: from techno, indie- and gothic-rock, surf, dub up to classical music and a jazz. In a band’s record box is possible to meet The Smiths, Serge Gainsbourg, music of Bach, Pixies, Residents, Joy Division, Bruno Martino, etc.
When ready musical material was enough for a high-grade album, Alexander Ivanov has joined a band. He has helped group to adopt the majority of a material recorded before for live performance and has undertaken duties on midi and drum programming and mixing desk. For the first time the group has acted in Tryasina (Bog) club in native city in the beginning of 2002.
The first exit concert of group was held on 2002 June, 19 in the Kiev club " Buddy Guy " within the framework of the " Pulse of Asphalt " action together with Kiev (and not only) favorites " Maket and Downtown " (former " Ivanov Down ") and at support of ICTV Ukrainian TV channel project " Street TV ".
The greatest achievement of group on that moment was practically monthly sounding in 2001 on BBC Radio1 air in the program of legendary British radio DJ John Peel. In January, March and August of the same year John placed band’s demo album, sent to him by musicians, in the his Record Box - the list of albums and singles most recommended by John alongside with such acts as Solex, Orbital, Pulp and others.
Further, releasing of several tracks of group on thematic compilation CDs of easy music on Moscow indie-label "Legkie" have followed. Tracks from demo album of group was also on air of the Icelandic, Scottish national radio, in programs of Radio Alooga broadcasting its programs from Germany on some European countries, and also independent radio station in Leeds (Great Britain) and Timishoara (Romania).
The track of group Monster and Belle is released on cassette compilation album "We Are not Alone" by Italian indie-label Best Kept Secret.
At the end of June, 2002 also the limited circulation of 7-inch vinyl split single " Le Sport, La Musique " was released along with UK post-rockers The Workhouse on British indie-label Jonathon Whiskey Records based in Leeds,UK.
During 2002 - 2003 group had some concerts in the Moscow clubs such as 16 Tons, the Chinese Pilot Djao-Da, and Territory. Fotomoto has taken part in " After work " festival, organized by known Moscow theatrical actor Eugeny Grishkovets.
In October 2003 on Moscow label "Legkie" the album of group " Suranov, A? " is released. An album has received positive press in the Russian mass-media writing about independent music.
Also the group distributed their albums in UK and Europe through the friend in UK Michael J Eardley (with which has got acquainted through the Internet) and through Tamizdat - a non-profit organization promoting music from Central and the Eastern Europe to the western audience.

In July 2004 the band got a unique chance to visit UK to do a session for the legendary John Peel's late night show. This was a great success and led to much more international interest. A return visit is planned for December 2005 via the Progress Festival in Ghent, Belgium.

All guys. The chinese guy plays guitar and is 100% male for 100% of his life. Ronnie Radke, the original lead singer was involved in the death of a man a few years back. This led to his imprisonment and in conjunction with his drug use and personality, he was kicked out of the band. Craig, of BlessTheFall, replaced Ronnie. There has been quite a bit of heckling at shows, and much love for Ronnie from fans via MySpace. Ronnie's new band is titled Falling In Reverse, and one or two tracks can be heard on their MySpace. Ronnie is still in prison. As of right now, Escape the Fate is on Warped Tour.
