okay, dont live in sedona. thats where you live if your old and want to retire. also in payson, prescott and flagstaff. thats where you live if you want to retire.
if your young and have kids, i would say glendale.

glendale: not too expensive. clean streets. nice place to live.
phoenix: not expenisve. getting too crowded. too many jobs but no good pay.
scottsdale: tooooo expensive. stuck up people. rich people walking around shopping all day. jobs pay great there.
tempe: not expenisive. colloeges and universaties are located there. a lot of students. getting crowded. jobs:no good.
mesa: too far out there. getting expensive. no jobs.
gilbert: nice nice place to live. not expenisve at all. but your too far from the big city. and you might not have all you need there.
antham: too expensive. few jobs. small city.
peoria: nice nice place to live. lots of new homes coming up. city is growing. getting expensive.
downtown phoenix: DONT MOVE THERE! cheap place to live. gangs all over. bad area. always in construction.
buckeye: too many cows. smelly place. new homes going up. cheap to live. but smelly place. yuck.
goodyear: heard its cheap. im sure there are cows there too. yuck.

If money is no object, the best place to live in Arizona is Sedona. That isn't my opinion (although I agree). It is USA Today's opinion. They highlighted Sedona as the most beautiful place to live in our entire country.
I think if you are looking for a great place to live -- there are several factors that come into play -- and they are all unique to you.
You may place a higher value on education than me who has my kids grown and gone. You might like warmer or cooler weather.
My opinion is Sedona. There are areas that are reputed to be strong vortexes -- for feelings of well-being.
I've been to Sedona six times now and each time I have explored areas known to be strong vortexes. I am particularly fond of Boynton Canyon near the Enchantment Resort.
What I would do (if I were you) is to really read up on an area and try to learn all you can about it. Use the Internet -- it is a great source of good information.
But pick an area and go hike that area. Meditate and pray and do whatever you are led to do. Free your mind; relax; refresh; rejuvanate.
Boynton Canyon is a great place to begin this type of journey. It is beautiful and you are allowed to hike it although it runs through the Enchantment property.
The reason I would do this is because I believe the answer to your question will come to you in great clarity as you do this exercise. It should be totally free from any direction other than this of your soul, spirit and no other person can compare with your heart in an experience like this.
It may hit you -- it may not. But you are at the very least in for some of the most breath-taking scenary you have ever seen in your life. At most you will experience a true life-changing event -- of some sort....and you'll know when it feels like it should be home.
Be open.
Great question.
Hope this helps.

My sister and her family live near Tempe and love it. She also lived in Scottsdale for awhile and enjoyed that too.
Are you more of a big city person or small town gal?
