Consumer movement is basically an off shoot of the capitalistic theory, that works on the market forces. The price is determined by the market forces of supply and demand. Similarly, it was believed that the consumer was the god, for it is to satisfy him, the whole business was running. The business would be successful if the consumer is satisfied about the goods purchased by him. No doubt, there is a legal principle which says "let the consumer be aware". But, that principle slowly giving way to the urge for satisfaction of the consumer, with a view to getting an edge over other competitors, in business. These practises over a period have given rise to a set of rights to the consumers. The State has also come out with certain legislation to safe guard the interests of the consumers. Many consumer forums have also been set up to enforce the rights of the consumers.

consumer awareness is s small tool to identify the capability of business men cheating
for example if u are in need of a particular genuine stuff there are so many ways you can be cheated/
1. the stuff may look same or advertised with glittering words.
2. price may be four times than you could buy from the nearby shop.
3. you may be totally defeated by counterfeit quality,
4. you could be given references which are totally believable.
5. you will be given a comparison of equally product of different make and quality saying Ours are the best"
to escape you should get to know things fully and aware of all items which could make you to buy
plan and buy
never buy unwanted and critically needed,
