Set up a proportion : 20/6=x/24
Cross multiply: 6x=480
x=80 years

k=3/10 D=.3t t=D/.3 = 8 years

since they are directly related u can set up a proportion as follows.
20 / 6 = x / 24

we cross multiply to get
480 = 6x

divide both sides of the equation by 6. this is to get x by itself on one side of the equation
so x = 80

80 years old but the atatment that the trees diameter varies directly to it's age is incorrect!

is this an IF question, because trees grow not just according to species, but the condition to which they find themselves, also the weather conditions at that place. LF
