I put one of those patriotic magnets on the car. After a while the colors faded from the sun. When I tried to remove the magnet it was fused to the car. Any suggestions.

sorry you will have to sell your car, give ya 20 bucks for it, its not fused, ease a plastic scrapper or putty knife to pry it up

Go down to your local parts store and ask for magnetic sticker remover from Ronco...
Seriously, just get it peeling. Try pouring hot water over it just before you try. When you are done you are going to have a nice dirty outline of the sticker, so you will need to wash it and possible polish it out with rubbing compound.
