You also can try home remedies such as drinking warm tea. Or gargaling with salt water. I add a little clove oil with my salt water seems to do the trick nicely

1 glass. 1 finger of scotch. 2 fingers of hot water. Stir. Sip. Works for coughs too! Room temperature scotch can also be a great preventative.

During the day, I like a hot cup of tea with honey and lemon. At night, however, a hot toddy works wonders for helping me fall asleep.
8 oz. hot water
1 shot of whiskey
1 squirt of lemon juice
1 spoonful of honey
mix well and drink it all down before it gets cold.
