I was shocked when game one of the World Series was opened with AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL instead of our National Anthem!! Bob Seger did a great job but why was the STAR SPANGLED BANNER shunned? Is Baseball turning it's back on America? What do you think?

For people who have a sense of tradition, the absence of the Star Spangled Banner was disturbing. It's no different than celebrating Christmas on the 26th or the 4th of July on the 8th. I guess people who lack a sense of tradition are the one's who wonder whether or not people watch the game for the music. I agree, Bob should have sung the National Anthem and America the Beautiful should have been saved for the 7th inning stretch.

Poll results yesterday: over 50% of polled Americans are rooting against Bonds (the drug lord) getting the homerun record. When that many people are against you know something is up.

They normally do both, every game I have ever been to they sing both, but I have only been to the games at busch stadium, I am sure when the game is in st louis you will see them both sung.

Gee, to me it seems as if both are acceptable. Why are you so upset? Did you watch the game for the music or the game?
