If it's thick and flaky then it's time for a new one. Replace your mascara ever three months. And a trick to help it last that long is to twirl the wand inside the tube rather than pumping the wand up and down. When you pump you increase air bubbles in the tube which will cause the mascara to dry out much quicker.

Don't thin it out. Throw it away. You are only suppose to keep mascara for a month or two because the older it gets, the more likely it is to cause eye problems.

if its more than two months old, as the other people said, throw it away. if its new and its gone flaky and clumpy, get a clean tissue and put some vaseline on it.wipe the mascara wand with this tissue, it works great for cleaning off those horrible dried out bits. hope this helped!

if u mascara has become thick it a sign that its time to throw it away. u shouldn't use a mascara more than 2-3 months. if u use more than that u can have an eye infection or a sty.

Mascara must be replaced every 3 months, because itis a good "environment" for bacteria to grow in. It will bring you eye infections. Don't share your mascara with anyone either.

dont leave it in too long(longer than a day). and if it clumps get one of those plastic things that look like a mascara stick to brush against your lashes after mascara is applied. it looks like a tiny comb at the end of a stick.
