It's genuine. Ted Baker made an exclusive line under the Edward Baker label - you will notice the collar bones were not plastic but copper. Buttons were real glass or horn. I bought a few edward items from the original store in Covent Garden. I don't think ted baker does the same line any more.

Yes. It's a trick designed by unscrupulous traders to rip off the unscrupulous designer labels by joining them in exploiting the publics desire pay a fortune to own a designer label. It relies on the public's inability to notice the difference. The slight tweek in name or logo also means these traders can't be sued by the label it's ripping off.
Clearly if the public can't tell the difference between the designer labels and cheap imitations then the designer labels are not worth what they charge.
The worst ones though are the imitation perfumes, usually sold out of a suitcase on the street. With no street trading license, these guys have eyes in the back of their heads (watch them furtively looking about) ready to shut and run if they see a plod. Never buy them they smell like 'Cats p***" and probably are - ugh!

i used to work in a man's clothes shop.
We sold timmy hillfiger, colin klein and barry brubecker.
if edward baker made it, instead of loads of underpaid chinese or indian workers, then it's a fake! he'd never make his own clothes.
