did marangu route 1st week of oct. very easy trail, no difficulties til I hit above 15,400 ft. as i did not take diamox. I did make it to summit, but hurried back down. everyone else in party that took diamox had shortness of breath, but no hallucinations or nausea such as myself.
very much worth it and i would do it again.

I climbed Mt. Fuji in Japan and one day I will follow your footsteps up Mt. Kilimanjaro. It is something I intend to do.
Advice, bring plenty of food and water. Bring a sweatshirt or two. Bring a tent. Bring a flashlight and extra batteries. Don't go alone. Get sufficient rest.
Good luck.

bring some clothing and care, it will take some time, have fun and be safe! Good Luck! I think it is great that you are doing that, to help innocent children, very nice of you.
