Yes movement does slow down towards the end, the babies head is probably in your pelvis so this stops the movement because the baby is getting ready for labour. You can hear the heart beat so stop worrying.

You should be feeling less movement but more pressure. The poor kid hardly has any room to move around hence why the movement would be less. As you come towards the end of your pregnancy the head will drop further into the pelvis. You will know that this is happening because one morning when you wake up it will feel like someone has hit you between the legs with a sledgehammer and you will hardly be able to move without feeling some sort of pain. To reassure yourself i would go to the doctors and get checked out - but i had the exact same thoughts as you when i was pregnant and everything was fine

Most of the time, yes it's completely normal. Theres only so much room in there, and baby is almost full term.
You s hould still be doing your kick counts and should feel 10 mivements in a 60 minute period.
Try drinking a glass of orange juice or eating a candy bar, and then laying down somewhere quiet for an hour.
Count the movements, if they add up to 10 in an hour all is well, if not call doc and go in for a stress test. They will do it immediatly, no need for an appointment.
This happened to me a lot in the final weeks of pregnancy. Jack freaked me out on several occasions, I went in, had the stress test and usually the second they got the moniter on me he started moving again....

The movements do slow down for the last couple of weeks. Basically because the baby has far less room to move around in as he/she has been gaining so much weight.
As long as you're feeling at least 10 movements a day. Anything less than that and you should give your midwife a quick call. It's usually nothing to worry about.
Hope this helps.

please do not worry it is very common for your babies movements to be less at this stage of the pregnancy. Your baby will now be getting ready any day now to be born and once head is down then restrictions on movement is considerable. Keep a kick chart for a couple of days if you feel less than ten movements a day go to doctor/hospital straight away. I am sure at this stage you will be at hospital for check up any day soon and you are just worrying like we all have at this late stage of pregnancy.
Good luck for the birth and you can tell baby off for worrying you then.

the movements will slow down a bit towards the end of pregnancy this is because there isn't as much room to move. as long as you are still feeling him move at least 10 times a day it should be ok. if you are that worried you should talk to your midwife. if the baby has engaged the feeling will be in a different place. but get it checked if you are worried it wouldn't hurt. hope all is well

As normal as can be. You need to think about how in the final weeks all that little baby does is get fat. He or she is all done developing and is just adding weight at this point. It is getting darned cramped in there. Gymnastics right now are kind of hard to pull off. Gone are the days when he can just flip from one end to the other.....you know that wierd feeling. Not only that he is getting lathargic, tired of being stuck in what is now a tight fit for him. I have always thought that is part of what starts labor, the babies dissatisfaction with its accomodations!
One thing to think about tho.....one of my babies slowed down and I panicked. By the time I went to the hospital to get checked I had not eaten for almost two days. My blood sugar was so low that the babies was too. They gave me a big glass of OJ and like magic he was kicking again. Try having something to eat, if you have been worried you may not have been eating right.
Love and Blessings to you and your precious baby.

This is suppose to be normal as there is limited space for the baby to move around in, plus they like to get into a little nap routine. If he has moved right down this could be why you cant feel movement as much - you may ache a little underneath due to the weight of the baby. Good luck when the little one arrives!!

I am about the same (37 weeks) and my midwife told me that the babies slow down their movements b/c there's just not much extra room in there, anymore. Try drinking something sweet or having a snack, then lay down on your side. You should feel at least 10 movements in two hours. HOWEVER, you should talk to your doctor/midwife about this. If it makes you nervous, you shouldn't hesitate to ask.

Movement does slow down, the doctors told me to drink a full glass of water and lay down on my side. Then to count every time I felt the baby move. The slightest twitch counts. Once I have felt it 6 times in a hour everything is OK. If I don't feel it 6 times then to go to the ER. Congratulations on the new baby and God Bless!:o)
