we got married last jan. here in the philippines and his ex-wife put him in some serious charges and he is dealing it right now in court. it's just hard to believe that there is no way he could take care of me. i need to find any institution to educate me more about the situation. His petition for me to migrate has been filed last august. i also have a military dependant id. i also want to know about the status of the case. i think he is not telling me the whole truth.

I believe he is lying to you because the courts do not and can not take so much of your salary regardless how far you are behind in Child support. I know because my exwife could not get help from the father of her children; Where is he from What state?

You can get online to check the status of the petition but you need the reference number to do so. If you don't have that, call them to see if they will tell you anything. I'm sure they will being as the petition is for you. If your petition was filed in august 2006 you can expect to wait awhile. Petitions take a lot of time now. Due to some changes in immigration laws. You could be waiting a year before the petition is approved. It's hard to say what is going on with him financially with his ex wife. Does she even know about you? I don't understand why he can't send you some money to help you. I would be concerned if I were you. I don't believe he is telling the whole truth and nothing but the truth at this point.

I think your observation is correct. There is more to the story. It could be anything. Your immigration papers may never get approved. Did you file them or did he?

Go to the US Embassy in Manila... they can search for your status. You can also claim non-support as well. They will assist you getting some living expenses. You may also contact the his Military Unit and let them know he isn't supporting you. But no matter what you do to get support from him, will only make him angry. But I think the marriage is doomed already.

Good luck

It depends on how serious the charges are, money could be an issue, better judgement could have been use, there has to be a declaration of support on file with the U.S. consulate, but this will simply tell you that he said he could support you, it will not give you monetary amounts. My suggestion talk with your husband seriously.

he is not telling you the truth. I would go to the military where you live and let them know he is not helping you financial they will see to it that you get some help. the military does not like the fact that their people are not taking care of their families. good luck
