I dont know the cost - especially as i dont know where you are.
it is possible to replace a small section of good quality carpet. It is a job for an expert. Assuming you can match the carpet there is a special iron on tape that goes underneath the carpet, joining it. It is for an expert because if done badly you can burn the carpet and get the nap all wrong

I would call any reputable carpet installer. If you would happen to have a piece left from when it was installed that would be great.I always save the large pieces when we get new carpet for just for this reason.I have used them a least once or twice over the years.I can' t remember the cost but I think it was under $100.00.The carpet installer should be able to give you an estimate over the phone. Call a few of them.

Yes, it can be done, but you should call a professional to do it. They can give you an estimate. The only drawback would be that color may not match exactly due to different color lots (unless you have a scrap piece of the same carpet) or wear and tear from everyday use.

That's a tough one, call an expert. i would suggest a crate for the dog while alone, its not cruel as some think. Another help would be puppy pads, available at most pet stores. I don't know the science behind it but there is some odor in them that attracts the dog when its time.... They worked for me, but house training is best.

easiest solution is to cut a suitable strip out of the carpet from under a piece of furniture that's pretty permanent, and use it to plug the gap.

Don't know of anyone who does repair services. Ask at your local carpet shop?
