Yes... quite often as a matter of fact. I've found that I earn a lot more respect at work when I am willing to push back. Many folks will keep taking on additional work and tasks until they begin failing at some or all of their responsibilities. As a manager, I appreciate when employees let me know when their workload is too great. It gives me the chance to re-allocate the workload before something or someone fails. At the same time, if you are refusing to do the work make sure that you are also making the best use of your time and that you are productive in you job... other wise you run the risk of being viewed as having poor time management or being just a plain lazy employee.

Not out right, that's insubordination. I'd ask which order they wanted done and say I'd get to it as soon as possible. That's what I'd do, whatever I could get to in the allotted time, with out rushing. I don't break my neck for anyone, but I go to work to make money and that's what I do. I make too much money to just outright say I won't do something ( unless it's illegal) I just never find the time to do it.

I think at one time or another in our lives that we have thought of doing that but it all depends on how bad we need that paycheck...I would imagine that most would just do the job....
