Some little vandals must've gotten at my car some time ago (weeks?) and there is a great deal of dried egg on the window, mirror, and driver's side door. What would you suggest to use to remove this safely? It is a 2005, Vibe. Thanks.

i had the same problem before! This is a no brainer!

amuse4you, first I suggest a little sandblaster - you can rent them at any industrial machine shop and that is really your problem solved right there lickety split!

But.....it that doesn't get it all off - just your basic garden variety flamethrower, which you can make yourself - i know how handy you are!

You tell me that didn't work for you and i will pay for a free car wash with the works!

And if this answer was not worth ten points..well... i am nuthin but a monkey's uncle!

I have had reason to notice that egg yolks have something in them, especially as they go bad, that will remove paint. Oh well. Twice through the car wash or a trip to the local wand wash should take care of everything you can do. Don't bother scraping at it or using pads, even nonabrasive pads will mark up your paint. If the eggs were rotten and the paint under them is stripped you will need to get it fixed and there is nothing that you can do in cleaning to prevent it. Sorry.

Take it slowly. Get a soaking wet cloth and lay on the egg. Let it soak through to loosen the egg and keep on wiping. The most chemical is a bit of tar and bug remover

Good car shampoo (Armor All make one that's "intensive", its a thick gloopy green gel-like concentrate), then use a cutting compound that's safe for metallic paint (ask in the shop) to rub away at the surface, then polish with a good car wax.

hot water and a non-abrasive soap - rub gently - it takes awhile.
