Rape only fits into biology in that it is a behavior of some living beings (often stated to be just humans, but recent evidences suggests otherwise).
Rape may have little to do with mating, but it usually does involve aspects of mating. If there was no sexual arousal, there would be no erection. The argument about "control" seems to ignore this. Control over another is easier without an erection.
Despite all of the psychological studies and theories, the real motivation for rape is still unknown. There is no set of genetics or environmental factors which would lead anyone to be able to predict who might be or become a rapist.
Popular myths about poor personal emotional relations with their mothers leading to abnormal sexual development do not seem to cover all of the known cases.
Why rape seems to be a behavior pattern accepted only in males and almost never in females is also unknown. For some reason, similar backgrounds in women leads to nymphomania, not rape. This is more than a release of sexual tension.

Rapeing can be a result of Grudge, easing insane tensions, and more of a result of barbaricly High sexual urge.
But surely it is not for "mating"....except may be few instances in History for producing a Heir....

human are thinking planners who have a high rate of intellengence, they ahve sex for fun and to show appreciation. animals have sex only to make babies they dont do it unless they are in heat. people who rape are on a power trip, want to show thier dominance and are often selfish and angry. they know exactly what they are doing and should be held accountable for their actions.

Dear Mystery Meat,
It's usually not about sex at all.
It's about control.
It would fit better in PSYCHOLOGY than BIOLOGY.

Basically, its the second thing you mentioned, as well as they have a thirst for sex, as well as control over another human being. If you have been a victim, please report it to the authorities, and get professionally counseling ASAP!!! Such a person needs to know they cannot get away with violating you!
