Deforestation is making the supposed to be 'tree-crowded' area "bald". It could be due to cutting down the trees for different purposes such as timber/logging industry, urbanization of the area, turning the land area into agricultural ,industrial, residential or mining spot amongst others. The results would be flooding, increased pollution rates due to high carbon dioxide, and destroying the habitats of different species of forest plants and animals. As the solution, illegal logging should be banned, cutting down the trees restricted, and there should be implementation of planting a tree as a replacement to every tree that has been cut down. The government should play a great role on this.♥

Deforestation is basically the tearing down or removal of a forest, to either make room for a strip mine, or a place of residence. The price is higher than a lot think. It leads to global warming, due to less trees to suck up carbon monoxide. Animals sprawl, traveling into urban areas, usually feeding on peoples trash. Deforestation can only be solved if people stop wasting resources.

Deforestation is the removal of forest.

The causes of deforestation can be either Natural or Man-induced. Natural causes include forest fires and even the loss of trees due to Volcanic action (like around Mt. Saint Helens). Mankind is the usual cause. The largest amount of deforestation depends upon the activities of humans.

Deforestation can be caused by logging (especially "clear cut" practices), removal of forested areas for use as farm land or urban development. The use of trees as a resource is very important in developing countries. Clearing the land for other use is also a reason.

The effects of deforestation include a change in local natural environment with reduced biodiversity, climate changes, water shed deteriation and even gross changes in geography. Often the cleared land becomes unusable.

Massive deforestation seems to be linked to uncontrolled population growth. Control of human population is one aspect of lowering the rate of deforestation.

Deforestation is the conversion of forested areas to non-forest land use such as arable land, urban use, logged area or wasteland. Historically, this meant conversion to grassland or to its artificial counterpart, grainfields; however, the Industrial Revolution added urbanization. Generally this removal or destruction of significant areas of forest cover has resulted in a degraded environment with reduced biodiversity. In developing countries, massive deforestation is ongoing and is shaping climate and geography.

Deforestation results from removal of trees without sufficient reforestation; however, even with reforestation, significant biodiversity loss may occur. There are many causes, ranging from slow forest degradation to sudden and catastrophic wildfires. Deforestation can be the result of the deliberate removal of forest cover for agriculture or urban development, or it can be an unintentional consequence of uncontrolled grazing (which can prevent the natural regeneration of young trees). The combined effect of grazing and fires can be a major cause of deforestation in dry areas. In addition to the direct effects brought about by forest removal, indirect effects caused by edge effects and habitat fragmentation can greatly magnify the effects of deforestation.

While tropical rainforest deforestation has attracted most attention, tropical dry forests are being lost at a substantially higher rate, primarily as an outcome of slash-and-burn techniques used by shifting cultivators.

Deforestation is caused, no matter how you dres it up, by overpopulation (more people = more demand = fewer trees).

The Only Real Solution: stop squeezing out so many pups.
