Yes, Shakespeare was married. But to whom? The first application for mariage recorded in Worcester Cathedral, 27th November 1582, reads "Anne Whateley." But the very next day, 28th November, there is an application for marriage to "Anne Hatheway." So who are these women & was Shakespeare a bigamist?
