I'm not sure.
The way they sent her off was pretty shocking and totally unexpected, though. It was pretty good.

I have several theories about that.
1) it was great shock value for a season ending
2) She can always come back as a Ghost, some how
3) They just switched sterotypes. They replaced the Black Woman with an Overweight Widowed Woman. Do not take this wrong...I think the woman that they have now is simply adorable and I love her to death, I felt the same about Andrea as well. I just think that the network wanted to bring another type of woman. I am truely waiting for the Battered Divorse Woman to come next.
I think it would be great if Andrea would haunt the antique shop when the new girl starts working here.

I hear she had a busy schedule. My opinion is that they wanted to concentrate more on the wife/husband relationship, and now that the new character doesn't know about the ghost thing they can do that.

Her name is Aisha Tyler and she is going back to CSI where she came from to do ghost whisperer. they asked her to come back and she said yes. Also Camryn Manheim makes a great addition to the show she is wonderfull.
