Ditto. It's still Nippon or Nihon here. If I remember correctly, though, Marco Polo called it Jipang.

When Nippon change to Nippon from Japan. Japanese call it Nippon or maybe Nihon (Ni-Ho-N) ==[Ho + maru= po] ; [Ni - little tsu - ho + maru - N] ,,, Indonesian call it Jepang, And some other call it Japan.

It didn't. "Nippon" is the name the Japanese call their own country (just like Germans calling their country "Deutschland" and the Dutch calling theirs "Nederland").
