He will start in brasil at 10 position but i feel he has the potential to race to the podium today. Provided his engine never fails like what happened during qualifying yesterday. As for the drivers championship, it;s imposible to overtake Alonso and even he knows that.

Whilst there is a mathematical chance of Schumacher winning the title, I'd never rule it out - however unlikely it is!

I think it would be better for the sport if the World Champion was there next season to defend his title, and I think that after some of the events of this season it's only right that Alonso takes the Drivers' title.

Enough potential to cheat his way to championships, marring his talent.

All teams consider SchMACKER to have more than his fair share of luck.

Adi, you stated that, "Even with Schumi's prodigy like talent, no ones that lucky!!! Renault have provided Alonso with such a reliable car that you can count on one hand the amount of times Alonso has had car or engine failure!"
...WELL SCHMACKER'S LAST ENGINE FAILURE PRIOR TO JAPAN WAS 2000. HMMM...........

SchMACKER: great talent diluted with a strange desire to cheat rather than accept being beaten fairly....

Alonso, arrogant...? Take a look at Rascassegate, Monaco, where S dismissed the view that he deliberately cheated, by saying that the question would never be raised if they had ever raced at the circuit....Unfortunately, the same allegation was made by Sir Jackie Stewart and many other prominent drivers and upheld by the FIA stewards; that is, after looking at all the telemetry for 8 hours (!!!??!!!), they could find no reason BUT to repremand him...

Yes, he has the potential. Yes he has the luck.

Potential, sure. Luck, you never know. But it sure isn't looking too good right now. I think he can make it back up to P1, it's been done before, from further on the grid. All he would need is for some goon to ram into Alonso and take him out. Or for Alonso to just lose it.

It'd be a great turn of event, but it's highly unlikely.

Fernando Alonso is the guy to look at now. If Schumacher had won the last race, then I'd say yes, but he's left it too late. Besides, the guy has SEVEN world titles - isn't that enough?! Tune in @ 5pm for the real result.

I hoped for him that he would but the points difference is just too much now, unless he does another Hill to someone and cheats I cant see that he will get it and then he will only win on race wins anyway. I was glad to see him get the Chinese win to finish off his career. I dont think anyone can dispute that he is one of the greats!
But the points are just against him. I am sure that Alonso will finish in the points and this is all he needs, unless he gets Massa to take Alonso out which Ferarri need the points for the constructers. We have seen him start from the back and still win races and with the performance of Massa in qualifying it is possible but I think Massa wants it as well.
Good bye to one of the true greats!

Starting from P10 due to fuel pressure problem during Quali, he could still win the race if Felipe holds everyone back and Michael has a cracking start. Unfortunately, Fernando looks to be in contention for atleast a few points today, therefore, WDC is beyond reach for MS.
If Ferrari finish 1-2, will Felipe pull over for his great team mate? Or will Michael let the youngster rejoice in his home town? I think everyone knows the answer.

Nope, it's Alonso's. Schumacher is a legend and though it would've been great for him to retire with the championship, I just don't think it's his this time.

As much as it pains me to say it... I doubt it! Even with Schumi's prodigy like talent, no ones that lucky!!! Renault have provided Alonso with such a reliable car that you can count on one hand the amount of times Alonso has had car or engine failure!

BYE SCHUMI!!!!!!!!!

b-b-b-bre... I know that, don't be a smart ar.se and try to misinterpret my answer!!! Answer me this... how many times has Schumacher's tyres failed on him!? HMMMM.... If the Ferrari had Renault's reliablilty in previous years or even at the beginning of this season - he wouldn't be in this predicment!! I was saying that its bloody unlikely that Alonso won't finish the race because of the reliability of Renault! IT TAKES MORE THAN AN ENGINE TO WIN A RACE.... DON'T GIVE ME STATISTICS LIKE FERRARI HAVEN'T HAD AN ENGINE FAILURE SINCE 2001.... BECAUSE YOU CAN'T BACK YOUR ARGUEMENT UP!!! DO I HAVE TO REMIND YOU OF THE 2005 SEASON!!!

He has the skill and potential but not the luck - a puncture holds him back
