Good question. I have never heard him mention it so I would say the answer is "no." Maybe he got some kind of deferment or has some medical condition that kept him out of service. I believe with the draft, not every single person got called. There was a lottery of draft numbers so maybe he number was not called? (I was pretty young so I don't remember exactly how that worked, but I am sure someone on her can remember.)
